Since 1987, G9 has been the identity of director and designer Bill Groshelle.
Originally a commercial production company, today G9 is a director loan-out company for Groshelle's directing services.
Groshelle began his career as a director for Colossal Pictures in San Francisco.
There Groshelle pioneered the "blendo" technique of combining live action, graphics and animation into a seamless image.
Groshelle's work ranges from commercials for Young & Rubicam, Chiat/Day, and McCann-Erickson to special effects on features such as "Top Gun".
Groshelle also designed and directed many of the original MTV ID's that created the unique identity of that network.
Since the mid-nineties, Groshelle has concentrated on creating films and installations for corporations, including Apple Computer, Sony, IBM, Intel, and Cisco.
In commercials, Groshelle's work for Toshiba and Coca-Cola combined live-action, graphics, effects and animation.
Groshelle's work has earned many industry honors, including an Emmy and numerous awards from the Broadcast Design Association for his MTV work.
His campaign for Lincoln Mercury was selected as a Clio finalist, and he also received a Monitor Award for Best Director.
